ROXi’s entrance into the music streaming world hit the headlines partly due to its backing from pop stars such as Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams. Though the industry is already extremely competitive, ROXi’s focus on TV based streaming is really interesting.
The user experience of the likes of YouTube and Spotify is known to decrease significantly once migrated to television, so ROXi could be well positioned to capitalize with its niche approach. The fact that it’s a “freemium” product also makes for easier customer acquisition, with users able to pay for an ad-free experience.
The company is well funded, is backed by some major music industry characters, and is growing at a steady clip as it launches on more platforms and integrates with more major TV brands.
To achieve its publicly stated aim of expanding to over 500 million devices, ROXi is now focusing on increasing its headcount to forge new business partnerships and spread the word through the public.

The company has an attitude of not minding when you do the work, as long as it gets done. 25 days of holiday + bank holidays aren't exceptionally high. But if you like to take a longer lunch and finish later/do a school or nursery run/dentist appointment etc, you have a level of autonomy based on mutual respect. Holidays and sick days are pretty much approved every time, at least for non-managers. Also, I know it's standard but 9-5:30 is nice too knowing you'll always have your evenings and weekends free & can just switch off.

Management is very helpful in getting you integrated, answering any questions you have as well as taking responsibility where necessary and open, honest communication. The company is very transparent with the top managers having open lines of communication with basically everyone in the company via standups, and social-type days in the office where your ideas really are valued.

Flexible and remote working is encouraged, and the tech infrastructure to support that set-up works well. ROXi has offices in Kings Cross that we're welcome to use at any point, but the whole company only has to get together once a month in person (although some teams meet more regularly). My line manager never has issues with me taking time out for school pick ups, etc. As long as we work hard and get the job done everyone's happy.

I just feel like I can work in a way that has me at my best. Most of the time that's working from home, other days that's collaborating in person in the office, there are no hard and fast rules at ROXi. It's partly about location and hybrid working being fully supported, but more than anything it's feeling completely trusted to look after myself and do the best for the business.

Working at ROXi gives you the flexibility to work remotely from home. We keep in daily contact on Teams and Slack and there's a weekly all-hands video call with the CEO and department heads keeping us up to date on everything that's happening in the business. We also have a 'MOB day' where we come into the office in London one day a month to catch up with colleagues in person. It means you have the freedom to live anywhere you want and not be tied to London.

ROXi is a high growth startup with a much smaller team than other companies in the music streaming space. We benefit from a relatively flat management structure with regular company meetings where everyone is free to have their say and give their opinion. There are few tiers of management and everyone meets up for our monthly company days where everyone sits together to bond and share experiences, plans and ideas.
