Our take
While capital markets are dynamic, innovative and fast-paced, the infrastructure for clearing (the procedure for settling trades and matching buy & sell orders in the market) has failed to keep up. Current clearing firms are slow, inflexible and costly, with exploitable security gaps making them prime targets for cybercriminals.
RQD* Clearing exists to address these pain points for traders with a platform that allows for secure clearing and settlement in real-time. Unlike competing houses RQD*'s solution is entirely cloud-based, allowing for near-instant data processing and rapid scalability as its clients customers grow.
RQD* is relatively new to the clearing space, having launched in 2021, and is set within a market dominated by firms which are generations old. Its main challenge going forward will be to convince institutions to move from legacy systems which, while slow, have functioned for decades. However, the market edge its clients gain from digitization may prove irresistible in the long term.
