Radish's mission is to create a new wave of digital publishing.
13% employee growth in 12 months
Radish is an app which provides hyper-serialized fiction content for the mobile generation. Its business model combines elements of digital reading platforms and online gaming, a model carried over from similar successful platforms in Korea and China.
Serialized micro-fictions are a sticky and habit-building product, and Radish has been smart to add interactive chat features to double-down on attracting return visits. If uptake can reach the same levels as it has done in Japanese and Korean markets, the North-American serialized fiction industry could prove a real money-maker.
This remains a big ‘if’, although it looks increasingly possible. Amazon are launching their own bite-sized fiction tool, Kindle Vella, and Radish themselves reported a real ramp-up in revenue and users in recent years. This potential also seems corroborated by Radish's acquisition by South Korean internet behemoth Kakao Entertainment (KE).
