To build at the forefront of account abstraction to prepare web3 for a mainstream audience.

Our take

Rhinestone is creating a customisable smart contract wallet which allows user to add and remove features from their wallet to suit their needs. At the same time it allows developers to create wallet features without having to build an entire smart wallet from the ground up. Starting from pre-set templates, users can use a drag-and-drop interface to add modules such as social recovery options, security features or automated purchasing strategies

Rhinestone is building on ERC-4337, a flexible standard for smart accounts on the Etherium blockchain which allows for a far greater level of modularity and customisation than was previously possible. By incentivising developers to experiment and create in this ecosystem, the company has already garnered support from the investment capital community.

It remains to be seen how the market will react once Rhinestone comes out of development, but the move to increase flexibility and expand the use cases of the Ethereum ecosystem is likely to be received extremely warmly by users and developers alike.
