To take the friction out of remote collaboration.
Current workspace collaboration platforms (like Slack and Zoom) focus on messaging or scheduled video meetings. Riff, on the other hand, want to enable effortless and spontaneous collaboration throughout the working day, even when a team can't be in the same room.
The company differs from existing communication platforms as it focuses on streamlined audio messaging, which better mimics an in-person office environment and enables more effective collaboration. The founders took inspiration from the gaming sphere, where it is commonplace to keep an audio channel open during hours of game play, allowing for fluid communication without the intensity of sitting on video for extended periods.
After a successful seed funding round, Riff has recently become a public beta and is looking to further expand its team. With remote working booming and many unlikely to return to a traditional office, innovation in the sector is a hot topic. Companies are keen to maximise productivity from home but with the market dominated by giants (Microsoft Teams, Slack, Google) it is a challenging space to break into.
