To make sustainability more accessible for everyone.
An uptick of sustainability awareness has meant that firms of all sizes are now paying advisors for reports on ESG standards. The only problem is, these advisors are often taking their clients for a ride - consistently over-charging and under-delivering.
With a technology-enabled platform, Rio Ai is trying to change this sordid state of affairs. The company is focusing on firms that are genuinely interested in ESG standards for their own sake, rather than compliance in an effort to avoid backlash and boycotts from eco-conscious consumers.
That’s a strategy that has led Rio to declare that its platform ‘democratises’ access to essential ESG expertise. Rio enables organisations to gather vast quantities of information from multifarious sources. That encompasses enviro-socio-economic data points from the organisations’ internal systems and processes as well as the supply chain.
Crucially for Rio’s service, this data and performance is analysed to inform guidance for its clients. All this takes time and effort and raises questions about scalability. But, Rio might fairly respond that properly implementing ESG strategies require this kind of effort, and from that perspective its platform is many times cheaper and scalable than the big-brand consulting services it competes with.
