Roamr works for companies with distributed teams by paying employees to host their colleagues as opposed to footing expensive hotel bills. If an employee is embarking on a work trip and a remote working colleague lives in that area, both the company and remote worker are incentivised to host the corporate traveller. Roamr’s platform claims to save companies 30% on what would otherwise be spent on hotel rooms, the cost of which is inflating every year. In short, the platform acts like any other rental booking platform, but the details are kept within a company's teams.

Alongside the cost benefits, Roamr encourages more in-person collaboration and networking. Whilst it won’t suit all companies, especially those partnered with leading travel operators, it will certainly suit a new generation of startups that have younger, hybrid or remote teams. It’ll be interesting to see how Roamr evolves with the ever-changing corporate travel sector.
