Our take

E-learning has been a valuable way to handle large-scale workforce training ever since intranet systems were invented, but these digital courses have not seen much innovation since they were first used. Whilst the novelty of computer training initially boosted engagement, the routine use of digital displays has now resulted in eLearning commonly being described as unengaging, mundane and easy to skip through.

Strivr leverages VR hardware, virtual environments and data analytics to provide immersive training experiences to employers for their workforces. As opposed to answering multiple-choice quizzes to test their training engagement, users are provided with immersive 3D experiences that aim to train and test staff in virtual replications of real-life scenarios.

With VR representing a new novelty in technology that mirrors the effect that computers once had, Strivr has taken a unique approach to increase the effectiveness and levels of engagement in workforce training. The startup claims that its VR training services can be used within health and safety uses, soft skills, sports science and operational efficiency cases.
