To set the table for a whole new Internet.
Salad is a cloud computing company that is creating a cloud infrastructure platform that uses containers-as-a-service. From bootstrapping VPN services to supporting P2P gaming ecosystems, Salad claims to be 10 times more affordable than other cloud computing companies thanks to its network and community of computer power sharing.
Salad takes inspiration from companies such as Uber and Airbnb but converts these sharing economies into the computing arena. The idea behind Salad is that signing up to its platform allows an idle computer’s energy to be utilised elsewhere for computing power. This sharing economy addresses a worldwide chip shortage and offers a cost-effective solution to the limited access to computing and processing resources.
With significant funding already raised, it seems that the company’s radical proposition for processing power-sharing has turned investors' heads. Though still in its early days, the company has attracted tens of thousands of users already, and as the digital industry continues to evolve, Salad’s cloud decentralization network appears to be accelerating in effectiveness and aspirations.
