Our take
Surgery is a stressful process that most people have to go through at some stage in life, and without the right preparation, physical and mental stress levels can be high. Whilst physicians advise patients on lifestyle changes they must take to prepare for surgery, this often comes in the form of uniform, outdated information brochures that do not actively engage the patient’s health needs.
Sapien Health provides a pre-surgery patient preparation app, helping to guide them through 1-on-1 health coaching, personalised body and mental health programs, on-demand content, and data-driven health insights. The virtual programs are offered to NHS physicians as well as employers, helping both parties to support their patients and employees through the stressful process that is surgery.
Whilst many startups offer personalised mobile programs for improving mind and body wellness, Sapien Health has taken a unique stance by tackling the obstacles that surgery creates. Through its personalised approach and 1-on-1 coaching approach, the company aims to help every patient receive the guidance they need to optimise their chances of a frictionless operation.
