Our take

Despite the cyber security risks it poses, for many organisations the dark web remains an unknown quantity. Searchlight Security provides dark web intelligence solutions in order to help organisations understand and mitigate these threats.

Searchlight Security was founded in 2017 and has since built an impressive reputation, having been involved in numerous high-profile dark web investigations. The company now boasts one of the largest dark web datasets in the world. Searchlight targets governments and law enforcement agencies, as well as enterprises and MSSPs, demonstrating its considerable agility and diversity within the space.

Searchlight's two flagship products, Cerberus and DarkIQ, allow users to launch investigations and monitor threats respectively. As the dark web continues to grow in scale and prevalence, demand for products like these will continue to rise, and Searchlight's acquisition of Attack Surface Management company Assetnote in 2025 indicates its strong position in the market. The company is well-placed to take continued advantage of this inevitable growing demand.
