B2B fintech is very complex, and every possible customer of Sequence has different setups that the platform needs to accommodate for. This asks for a product that's both opinionated, but very flexible at the same time.

I've noticed that everyone feels a sense of accountability when solving problems. This creates a transparent environment that's open for input from any direction. For example, designers will give engineers feedback, engineers will give design feedback, and anyone can share thoughts on scope, direction, priority, etc.

Autonomy is one of our core values, it was one of the key reason I was attracted to Sequence, and everybody in the company embodies it. It does happen quite often. It doesn't mean that there is no help when you need it, it means that you are entrusted to do your best work without seeking permission or requesting endless approvals.

Nothing really happens behind closed doors. You can join any channel on Slack, there are weekly all hands meetings and all meetings are recorded and available to all employees. Everyone is encouraged to challenge any private conversation and move it to the public domain.

My parents - and most of my family - live in another country, yet I can spend more time with them whilst working at Sequence, by visiting and working from another city or country. We put a lot of effort on having async communications which supports flexible working.

I am working as Frontend developer in SequenceHQ. Sequence streamlines financial operations and money movement to help companies scale faster while cutting costs. We are creating new category called FinOps.

We are working in pretty flexible manner. We are remote first company and people manage their time based on their own timezone. Even if I am working from different timezone, I never felt that I am working extra or in some weird hours.
