Shop Circle is on a mission to provide brands with the cutting-edge tools they need to deliver remarkable end-to-end shopping experiences that convert.
The term “eCommerce rollup” has been all the rage since early 2021 – a concept in which companies acquire multiple direct-to-consumer startups with the intention of accelerating their growth through its own market expertise.
Shop Circle is taking the concept and doing things a little differently. Rather than buying D2C companies, it’s rolling up SaaS applications via acquisitions and partnerships in a bid to become a one-stop-shop for eCommerce tools.
Given that the company emerged from stealth with a huge $65 million in funding, it begs the question: what can Shop Circle promise merchants that Shopify can’t? Better curation seems to be the main answer. Whereas Shopify offers thousands of fragmented apps, Shop Circle appears intent on offering less quantity, but more quality.
It’s early days for the 2021-founded company, but with such heavy funding and grand ambitions, both its headcount and acquisitions are accelerating quickly.
