Our recent shift in focus and mission towards leveraging AI to make mental health care universally accessible has been a source of great inspiration. It's been truly motivating to see the team's dedication to effecting real change, particularly as they share their challenges and embrace learning outside their immediate area of expertise.

Here, learning is a constant journey - we are embracing creativity, and are pushing boundaries in ways we've never done before. Imagine speaking to an expert in their field and asking them, "What do you think makes you good, how do you know if your client will come back after their first session or what makes you different from Person A who does the same/similar thing?" It's invigorating to see our team pose such questions, no matter how simplistic they may seem, and then share our insights and learnings with each other.

I think this is probably one of our greatest assets because our team are thoughtful, feedback oriented and definitely curious. It's an "I'd like to hear more on what you said and why you think we need this now", rather than "I don't think this will work", kind of culture.

It's a real treat to be part of a team where every team member is as driven and talented as what you find at Slingshot. We're tackling real world hard problems, and there aren't always ready made right answers, so having a team where people are able to think deeply and creatively really makes a difference.

Slingshot is a place where the best idea wins, no matter who or where it came from. We vet most decision in the open and everyone gets a chance to be heard. We prefer picking a path and rallying around it as a team to attempting to please everyone, but are not afraid to re-evaluate as new evidence presents itself.

AI is a quickly evolving landscape and Slingshot is on a mission to do something that has never been done before. Combined, this keeps the work varied and requires everyone to be agile in how we approach and solve problems - there are always new meaningful challenges to tackle.

Many of the technical problems being solved at Slingshot are pushing the boundaries of how ML infrastructure is built, which means that there may not always be obvious or straightforward solutions. The work consistently pushes me to think outside the bounds of what I already know, and improve my abilities as an engineer.

Slingshot provides an incredible opportunity to work across the entire software stack, including solving infrastructure, API development, and frontend UI/UX problems. Engineers are provided with a great deal of ownership to scope and execute on projects, which helps a lot with learning and improving upon new skills.

Slingshot has a team of incredibly talented engineers who are all able to wear many hats and contribute a lot to the product. The team is highly collaborative and we are able to constantly lean on each other for support whenever we encounter difficult challenges.

At slingshot we're not afraid to return to first principles of product development to build the ideal platform and user experience. We're balancing leveraging cutting edge technology, rapidly prototyping MVPs, and building new solutions from zero.

Active collaboration is a real and intentional part of team culture at slingshot. We have dedicated hours to pair up on tasks. The sense of urgency is present every day, and yet we always hold a high bar to deliver high quality solutions. The sense of energy is a tool to *gain* quality, not rush past it!

We're big fans of the book "Radical Candor" at slingshot, and we're not afraid to call each other out if we think someone's venturing too far away on either axis [as described in the book]. We have frequenty off-sites where we balance work and socialising and this relationship building is the foundation for trust as we exercise that radical candor.
