12% employee growth in 12 months
SmartThings, the smart home tech company, was only two years old when it was acquired by Samsung, ushering in a long partnership that has seen both companies benefit from a continuous conveyor belt of new products. Originally founded by a group of former employees of online advertising and marketing company ReachLocal, SmartThings is an app-enabled collection of tools for the home, including front door monitors, fitness apps, and smart TVs.
SmartThings has become integral to the Samsung brand, and the latter has benefitted greatly due to SmartThings tech being delivered directly into Samsung products. SmartThings has also been rocket boosted by a large number of partner companies and brands that Samsung has at its disposal, whilst helping its parent company keep up with competitors Google and Apple.
