Our take
Smile Digital Health's connected clinical data integration platform allows stakeholders in the healthcare industry to access and exchange data in a bid to close the gap between information and care.
The platform is the world’s first FHIR-based clinical data repository (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). FHIR is a widely supported open standard for health industry interoperability – essentially a measure of how quickly health data can be exchanged between computer systems. The booming health-tech and eHealth industries are indicative of the strong growth in markets like clinical data exchange and analytics, which are increasing by around 30% year on year.
Having secured further funding, the company will expand its newly acquired clinical reasoning utility and forward-looking artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities. Cited as a top growing company by Deloitte, The Globe and Mail, there are no plans to slow down.
