Our take
Fertilizer allows farmers to maintain production levels, which is vital as demand for crops continues to soar. However, fertilizer can be incredibly polluting. Sound Agriculture is setting out to solve this problem by providing an alternative to traditional, nitrogen based fertilizers.
Sound Agriculture leverages innovative microbial chemistry to help plants make the most of the nutrients that are already in their surrounding soil. This innovative solution has not only proven effective, but incredibly lucrative. The company has now raised nearly $100 million in funding, which is testament to industry confidence in their product.
Sound Agriculture faces regulatory hurdles and some uncertainty among the scientific community as to the effectiveness of microbial fertilizer. However, in 2023, it issued a guarantee for its flagship SOURCE fertiliser that it will maintain crop yield or your money back. With incentives like these, Sound Agriculture can overcome its challenges and plant the way to healthier soil.
