To give people access to the all the sounds and music they need, in one place.
When you’re watching TV, the majority of sound you hear is not what you would have heard if you were watching on set. Actors often have to record their lines in a booth separately, and most sound effects are added in post-production. Soundsnap is an audio database that provides those sounds, as well as beats for musicians.
It boasts nearly 500,000 sounds and tracks, and is the largest database of its kind in the world. It also removes rights issues - one subscription fee allows not only access to the entire database but also freedom to use the sounds in your music, film, production, etc. Its expansion into the music-making space is a recent one, but looks likely to be profitable.
With clients like Netflix, the BBC, Amazon, Disney and HBO, as well as tracks from producers who’ve written for Katy Perry, Kehlani and Lil Peep, Soundsnap is a clear market leader. Its platform is the most-used of its kind in the world.
