I truly feel what we are working on is so needed in the category. It's a very easy job to pitch the concept to suppliers as i truly believe in what we are doing and that it would be of a benefit to them to work with us.

I think it is really obvious that although we are a tiny team from very different backgrounds we all have shared morals and values. It shows in our approach to our work and collaboration.

At Sourcerie we deploy to a modern serverless stack, but we take care to ensure our development environments are as representative as possible, so there is never a surprise when we deploy to prod. We value the extra speed using type safe languages adds to our development process, and take advantage of tools like graphql codegen to autogenerate typesafe database clients.

As an engineer at Sourcerie you're trusted to work independently on product features, and to seek input from the rest of the business when a specification is unclear. The best ideas should win.

On my first day at Sourcerie, our CEO talked me through the company's values and explained how exactly these values were integrated into and central to the company's OKRs. These values lie at the heart of Sourcerie and are prioritised.

When I was an intern at Sourcerie, the CEOs would arrange a weekly meeting with me in which they shared any and all significant updates about the company. They care about transparency and getting everyone, even the interns, informed about what is going on. It is a great working environment to be in.

The people at Sourcerie are amazing. Everyone goes out of their way to support each other and to help others out when and if they can, even outside of their department. Everyone here is a friendly face and I look forward to going into work and seeing my colleagues.

We are trusted and encouraged to work when it best suits our different styles whether that's late starts, early finishes, or taking a couple of hours off during the day to be active or just take a time out. It's great to be treated like an individual and have what we do outside of work feel like a priority too.

What struck me when first joining the Product team - and why I accepted the job - is how keen everyone is to make decisions based on data and evidence, from talking to real users. It is often missed, even in tech start ups, but at Sourcerie this is built into the fabric of the business and product development cycle.

We are encouraged to seek help and support when we need it, but first and foremost are given as much time and space as we like to get the job done. We have regular check ins one and one and as a business, but outside of that are free to work on whatever we feel is the current priority.
