Our mission is to simplify code for everyone. A world where everyone, from individual developers to giant teams, enjoys working with clean, well-designed, easy to read and extend code. We must simplify existing code, teach people what simple code is, and guide them to effortlessly write it.
With advancing developments in software development comes complications surrounding poor quality code. In fact, every year, 4.9 billion hours are wasted by developers having to deal with sub-standard code.
Sourcery is setting out to change this with an AI code assistant that helps developers write better code faster. Having been described as Grammarly but for code, it is able to remain a few steps ahead of the developer, reading and understanding the code being worked upon. In turn, it is able to suggest cleaner, improved versions to replace it.
Sourcery has attracted over 7,000 developers to use the software, including at Sky, Microsoft and Amazon. The company will be using recent funding to expand their engineering team, develop the platform and expand their enterprise customer base.
