🚀 Our mission is to make the AEC industry better.
Our take
Speckle is an open-source platform that is revolutionising how 3D models and data are used in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC). The company wants to liberate people from proprietary file formats and software monopolies and to build an open digital infrastructure for the future of anything designed in 3D.
Open source, and in particular open source data infrastructure, could be the solution to the AEC industry's somewhat inefficient and fragmented mode of operation. The Speckle platform caters to this, providing a solid digital base for people in the AEC industry to build the next generation of tools with which they can innovate the space.
Community is also an important part of Speckle, with the company providing a space for members to talk about architecture, engineering, construction, and everything digital. It has good funding at its back, and continues to move towards facilitating collaboration and efficiency for those who work with 3D.
