To democratize access to elite education.
Sphere was born out of frustration with the way virtual education was being handled during the pandemic. Today, with the goal to become the largest decentralized corporate university, Sphere offers live, cohort-based courses, run by vetted leading experts, to upskill current professionals.
Indeed, this is a large and growing market, but one that has low satisfaction; hence it is perhaps unsurprising that Sphere has managed to bring on a global customer base since its recent conception, with annual contracts with companies such as Tinder and Accenture. The platform has unique prestige with instructors from the likes of Netflix and Slack, such as Ronny Kohavi, the designer of the AB testing systems at Airbnb, Microsoft and Amazon.
The start-up connected with venture capitalists after being accepted into a recent Y Combinator cohort, and has received seed funding, which will be invested into growing out the growth and engineering teams, as well as sourcing more bulk contracts with enterprise clients.
