Company mission

We’ve built an operating system for heat pump installers to manage the whole installation journey from initial enquiry through to final compliance paperwork, freeing up their time to focus on what really matters: doing high-quality installations, providing great customer service, and scaling their businesses. We're now looking to transform not just the business of heat pumps, but the whole home renewables supply chain.

Our take

With nearly 20% of carbon emissions coming from home heating, accelerating the phasing out of gas and oil boilers has never been more important. To address this, energy companies are promoting heat pumps as a cleaner alternative. Unlike traditional systems that rely on fossil fuels, heat pumps leverage electricity to efficiently heat and cool homes. However, transitioning existing homes to this greener technology presents a challenge: Installations can be lengthy and demanding for installers, requiring extensive planning and execution.

Spruce is an early-stage company that has built an operating system for heat pump installers. It oversees and manages the installation journey from enquiry to post-installation paperwork, helping heat pump installers to halve the time spent on installation whilst scaling their businesses in the process. In short, Spruce's platform supports businesses by building software that allows installers to work more efficiently.

Though young, the company is already improving the efficiency of over 300 installation businesses in the UK. Its next step is to improve not only heat pump installations, but the whole home renewables supply chain as well.
