Job marketplace for underrepresented tech job candidates
Jump to section
To help Women, People of Color, LGBTQ, Nonbinary and Trans tech, and business leaders build a squad that will lead them to a new job & leveling up their careers all while being visible, and valued.
Despite billions of dollars being invested in inclusive recruitment in the last decade, it can still be incredibly difficult for candidates from underrepresented groups to access the best tech jobs. Likewise, even when employers have the best of intentions, they can struggle to reach these candidates through standard hiring channels. SquadJobs is a community built to help women, people of color, LGBTQ, nonbinary and trans people access tech jobs and level up their careers, and to enable businesses to grow diverse teams that will bring new perspectives to their operations.
Past tactics for diverse hiring have had limited impact and garnered criticism for their reduction of underrepresented candidates to a tick in a box. SquadJobs, a part of the Lesbians Who tech & Allies community, focusses instead on promoting visibility both inside and outside the community, and on educating companies to the benefits, financial and otherwise, of inclusive cultures. Its job board then functions much the same as others in the tech hiring space, matching candidates to positions based on qualifications and values. For techies, the community also provides access to mentors that help them navigate their careers in tech, and to industry professionals who can choose to make referrals to their benefit.
The SquadJobs community boasts upwards of 100,000 members. As interest in inclusive hiring is on the rise, the company is in a good position to lead the space into the future.
