Staykeepers' mission is to unlock untapped revenue from under-utilised institutional residential assets.
Proptech company Staykeepers helps commercial landlords in the private rented sector fill empty rooms, and therefore optimise revenue, in Purpose Built Student Accommodation, University accommodation, Co-living Built To Rent and Multifamily properties.
Staykeepers operate predominantly in the UK student accommodation scene, working with major institutional landlords including Unite Students and Kings College Accommodation. This is a smart move, as this particular market is growing fast in spite of a rocky period over the Covid Pandemic. They’ve done well to double down on it with their 2021 acquisition of Student Flats in 2021.
With institutional landlords like Greystar and Blackstone buying up ever-larger tranches of UK accommodation buildings, it’s possible that the need for occupant-optimising services like those offered by Staykeepers will prove increasingly lucrative. Staykeepers may have to watch out, however. If these market leaders choose to take room-filling operations in-house, Staykeepers could get muscled out of the market.
