Company mission

Sugi's mission is to transform green investing and make it easy for everyone to build a greener portfolio.

Our take

Many UK investors want to have a positive impact on the environment, however this can be difficult due to the challenge in finding clear, reliable environmental data to take action accordingly. Sugi has created an app designed to allow retail investors to assess the environmental impact of their investments and help them make greener decisions. Investors can access personalised carbon data about the stocks, funds and ETFs they hold and compare them with industry averages and similar investments.

Users link their existing investment portfolios through Open Finance technology, which enables Sugi to personalise the experience and information. Behind the scenes, the raw impact data is sourced from S&P Trucost, a world leader in environmental data and analysis with world’s largest impact data set and over 100 environmental key performance indicators.

Sugi recognises that there are a number of valid reasons for investors to have holdings in higher carbon industries, which is why it is enabling investors to rebalance their impact through a new offsetting feature through its partnership with Ecosphere+, by offering verified carbon credits generated by forest conservation projects. The Sugi team has deep experience in sustainable investing and are a Greentech Alliance member. The company is focused on innovating new tools and products in the near future.
