Our take

Fazilat founded SULY as a digital assistant to help users make more sustainable purchasing decisions. The app provides sustainability scores on the brands and products that users browse, taking into account issues of the environment, social justice, and corporate governance.

SULY's scoring framework is built on the importance of planet, people, and purpose. The resulting brand score takes into account corporate reports - such as the Sustainability Accounting Standard Board - certificates, participations in industry sustainability campaigns, individual companies' sustainability reports, and industry ratings. This allows users to make informed decisions on the sustainability of their consumer purchases.

In the future, SULY aims to incorporate the ability to conduct independent analysis on brands and how they react to sustainability issues, rather than relying on the brand to provide news on their practices, as well as increasing supply chain transparency to understand every stage of the production and distribution process. This will include understanding the precise environmental footprint of products after purchasing.

Through this approach, SULY is committed to finding new ways to help users embrace a more sustainable life. This is driven fundamentally by the belief that sustainable living can become accessible and effortless to all by providing transparent information through an intuitive app.
