Our take

The technology underpinning apps and sites built for children can’t operate the same way it does for adults. Further, as TV viewing is dropping at 10 to 20 percent per year, while kids’ digital budgets are growing at 25 percent year over year, children need extra precautions around their internet use, which is often unregulated. SuperAwesome is tackling this problem by tapping in to the growing need for children-friendly technology.

Its products include kid-safe advertising, social engagement tools, authentication and parental controls. Clients are some of the biggest names in the children's market, including Hasbro and Cartoon Network. Its popularity has been propelled by the realisation from kids' brands and content owners that safety and privacy must be a part of their web and mobile experiences.

In 2020, SuperAwesome was acquired by Epic Games, which propelled the company's development. In line with Epic Games, it has seen further success, such as through recent partnerships with LEGO and Roblox into the metaverse. Already trusted by over 300 leading brands, including Nike, Netflix, Hasbro, Mattel and more, the company appears to be reaching success at the enterprise level.
