Our take

Founded in 2020, Surgery Hero works to help anyone on a health journey offering a digital clinic that helps people, from their homes, prepare for and recover from surgery.

The company’s app provides programmes that are unique to the individual in question, tailored according to their personal risk factors. This technological support is coupled with a human health coach who ensures the knowledge acquired from the programme is effectively turned into action.

Already, Surgery Hero is commissioned by 10% of Integrated Care Systems in the UK and is committed to provide over 8,000 programmes for people soon to undergo surgery. It is well positioned to see further growth following seed funding, which is being invested into scaling the service through applying machine learning whilst penetrating the U.S market.
