Our take

The rental of private pools is a a non-clustered niche, and Swimply was created to allow private pool owners across the US to be able to rent their facilities on an hourly basis. Through this, pool-lovers can independently access and enjoy the comfort of booked private facilities.

It is a simple concept, and a savvy one: swimming is a popular US pastime, and with disruptions to public facilities over recent years, the market has been ripe for an Airbnb-style disruptor to move in. Swimply has taken up the mantle with no competition, and facilitated over a million pool visits so far.

Whilst the company's US coverage isn’t yet extensive, it has generated word-of-mouth buzz and exhaustive media coverage, resulting in strong onboarding. As it continues expansion, it has also extended coverage to other facilities like tennis courts and hot tubs, which will be crucial for cementing their position in the market, especially if adjacent companies try to take on the concept.
