Reducing our carbon footprints can be a difficult, inaccessible and complicated task for many people. Switch2Zero solves this problem thanks to its sustainability solutions platform.
The sustainability market is set to be worth $12 trillion a year by 2030, and Switch2Zero is one of a raft of new companies racing to secure their position in the sector. Switch2Zero's advantage comes from its leadership. The company is headed up by two former Barclays MDs, which has given the company significant weight and credibility.
In such a fierce and ever-changing market, Switch2Zero's main challenge will be differentiating its solutions from those of rival platforms. If it can do this successfully, however, the company stands to make impressive gains in the next 5 years.

At switch2zero the CEO and CTO expressly invite everyone to ask questions and contribute to discussions. Whenever I do contribute, even on an issue outside of engineering, my input is taken seriously and engaged with.

My opinions are valued
May 2023
The CEO and CTO have fostered an atmosphere of transparency. This was clear from the very beginning, my interview being the most direct and honest I've had by far, with Tom giving instant feedback. I even have monthly hour-long meetings with my CEO about anything I want to bring up.

Open and honest communication

So long as you can make meetings, I have free reign on how and when I work. Recently I floated the idea of working from India for a few months and the CEOs attitude was to allow me to work in whatever makes sense for me, so long as I are prepared to check in and confront issues, should they arise. Very refreshing!

Flexible working

I've found that I often have plenty of time to get my head down and enter a flow state outside of meetings, which definitely helps with my productivity. I also am regularly involved in decision-making processes, contributing both my knowledge and my ideology, which helps me feel comfortable that my work aligns with my social values.

Autonomy

Upon joining, I was somewhat thrown in at the deep end, but I found that it wasn't too daunting as I was given time to get my head around things. My responsibilities were gradually added as my knowledge and skillset grew, which worked well to keep me engaged in learning whilst also making meaningful contributions when I was ready.

Flexible working has made it easy to fit work around my other commitments, and people are generally willing to work around your life when scheduling. Recurring team meetings are generally concentrated in the early UK afternoon; the main purpose of this is to suit the timezone spread of the company, but it also means that you can organise the rest of your hours as you see fit.
