Our take

While it's possible for a startup to shoot straight for the top with a disruptive product, most of the time it's a growing and thriving community that leads to success. Aside from raising company morale a good community can spread word of mouth, drive sales and inspire brand loyalty in a way money can't buy. Sylva is a startup which exists to help create and nurture these communities effectively, providing the benefits of a community for companies lacking the expertise or resources needed to develop one on their own.

Sylva works closely with its partner companies to understand their goals and their existing community, and then works to maximise the effectiveness of that community in line with their clients' requirements. It handles all aspects of administration, growth, and technology used in fostering and scaling a community, and at the same time provides personal support to its customers' management in strategies which could affect community growth.

Sylva has attracted a solid client base including the likes of Foodboro and Newsletter Crew and has raised a significant amount of funding, which it is using to further develop its product and scale its operations. As companies become more aware of the value that an organic community can hold for their operations, Sylva is in a good position to grow into a significant business in this space.
