Company mission

Symbio Robotics' mission is to increase industrial robots' operational efficiency to automate new tasks and reduce downtime. Its platform creates cutting-edge AI software for unlocking new potential in the automation industry.

Our take

The assembly of cars is slowly being taken over by robotic assistance, but this does not leave much room for flexibility. Robotics are often designed for uniform legacy cars, and innovative automobile design can often render this automation useless.

Symbio designs software that uses machine learning to learn what to accomplish. This provides a flexible approach to automated vehicle assembly lines, as opposed to using pre-coded and deterministic software.

The startup claims that less than 5% of vehicle assembly is currently automated in the U.S, and they aim to increase this by providing more flexibility to manufacturers. The startup currently provides its 'SymbioDCS' technology to both Toyota and Nissan factories.
