To bring the joy of gaming to the world of work.
Tangle is a communications platform for work teams and individuals that adds a layer of fun and recreation to what can often be mundane and functional software. Due to endless and unnecessary notifications and back-to-back video meetings, workers can risk burnout and feelings of isolation. With trends suggesting that remote meetings are still prevalent post-pandemic, Tangle, created by Absurd:joy, is providing new ways to incentivize teamwork through avatars, filters, and in-built games for icebreakers as well as spaces for work friends to simply hang out, trying to produce the benefits of office culture without the office.
The company has received seed funding from the likes of Qualcomm Ventures, and its ex-game studio developer founders certainly know how to market the platform in a fun and friendly way that stands out from larger competitors like Zoom and Google Meets.
Tangle is using its March 2023 funding to prepare for its launch later in the year, so only time will tell if the platform makes a dent in the corporation-ruled video meeting market.
