Our take
The UK education system is under huge amounts of strain due to a fall in teacher retention, overwork and underpay being crucial factors in this. One in three teachers reportedly plan to quit in the next five years. The need for improved labour conditions has never been more urgent; nor has the need to effectively reallocate and deploy what teachers are available. That’s where edtech startup Teacher Booker comes in.
Teacher Booker is a SaaS company providing workforce management and recruitment platforms to local authorities, multi-academy trusts, and Government departments. The platform is designed to radically cut administration and placement costs, enabling schools to make savings and teachers to find the best positions.
Moving forward, Teacher Booker is focusing on enterprise sales to MATs and LAs, ensuring temporary staffing needs are met across these academic homes. The model remains competitive on cost, which is likely to be a decisive success factor. Whilst providing a crucial service at a pivotal moment for the UK education sector, Teacher Booker is finding inventive ways to stay industry-relevant.
