Our take
Teacher Tapp is a daily survey app catered towards teachers. It's a place for them to answer questions that allow their collective opinions to be heard and used to inform school leaders, media, policymakers, and organisations.
The company was created after founders Laura McInerney and Becky Allen, both former teachers, realised that too many decisions in the industry were being made without asking teachers for their opinions. Together, the pair set out to change this and were funded by grants from the Gatsby Foundation and Nesta.
With the app's focus being to gather data that will help improve the profession, over 8,000 teachers are already using it daily and the company's findings have been featured in the BBC, The Guardian, and Tes, among other news outlets. The company's offering will only become more needed as concerns around teacher workload and retention continue to rise.
