Terra.do is building the world’s largest platform for climate work, with a mission to get 100 million people to work directly on climate in this decade.
25% employee growth in 12 months
Terra.do’s website and mobile app serve as a professional network, job search and recruitment platform, e-learning hub, and fellowship application portal, all tailored exclusively for the climate industry.
The company was launched in 2020 on the belief that the vast majority of professionals predicted to be working in climate by 2030 haven’t even entered the field yet. While its estimation seems generous, the point remains that interest in entering climate related careers is growing, yet many people don’t know where to begin, or how to pivot from a different career path.
With climate related tech companies receiving around 15% of all US venture capital funding, the industry is on the cusp of huge growth. Terra.do is aiming to position itself at the center of this expansion by facilitating talent sourcing and education.
While the startup has already had plenty of success with its in person and virtual job fairs and e-learning offerings, the aim is now to scale its app globally after securing funding led by Avaana Capital, a $150 million climate-focused fund, as well as over 150 smaller contributors.
