To catalyse private sector investment in gender and climate in Africa, and shift women’s voices from the frontlines of climate change to the forefront of global climate leadership.
Not-for-profit initiative The Rallying Cry is dedicated to connecting the global development and finance sectors, with the aim of promoting collective climate leadership. Its focus is predominantly on climate and gender, for the moment specifically looking at agribusinesses in Kenya and Zambia.
The idea is to ensure that grassroots agricultural workers with on-the-ground experience are able to take a leadership role in the climate protection movement. The Rallying Cry hopes to achieve this by facilitating informed engagement from precisely those most affected by, and involved in, ecosystem impact.
The Rallying Cry currently partners with FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank that invests in global projects that support sustainability, and has featured on panels at Climate Hub, COP26, and Women’s Forum. By spotlighting women's voices, the aim is to facilitate a more collective and effective approach to tackling the climate crisis worldwide.
