Company mission

To capture tyre wear for a healthier environment, accelerating the shift towards true zero-emission mobility.

Our take

The Tyre Collective is an interesting startup focused on reducing tyre wear pollution. It does so by collecting microplastic particles released as tyres wear down, using electrostatics and airflows. A vital step for a cleaner environment as these particles contribute significantly to air and water pollution.

On Top of this, the company is exploring ways to turn these captured particles into useful products. Collaborating with designers and researchers, it has created items like 3D-printed vases and batteries, using a mix of tyre particles and recycled materials. While this is very much still a work in progress for the company, its an exciting venture that promotes sustainability.

To help it on its way to a sustainable future, The Tyre Collective recently partnered with HIVED, an electric delivery company, to install its TC04 device on five all-electric vans in London. This partnership is a significant step in advancing tyre wear capture technology and with ongoing research and collaborations, The Tyre Collective is surely set to make further strides in creating a sustainable, zero-emission future.
