Our take
The Wild is a leading provider of immersive collaboration tools for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. Whilst visualization and simulation tools are nothing new in AEC, The Wild’s expansion of this concept to include collaboration capabilities sees them leading a growing trend towards more complex collaboration platforms.
The Wild’s recent acquisition of competing AEC VR software provider IrisVR consolidated the company’s impressive offerings in the VR collaboration field. The two were already making waves in the sector independently, and this new step will strengthen The Wild’s position in an increasingly competitive industry. However, The Wild was more recently acquired by Autodesk, a company it previously had established workflow with. There are now plans to integrate its technology more seamlessly with Autodesk Construction Cloud, ultimately help bolster its mission.
The company’s client roster is impressive, with the likes of Interior Architects, Verizon, and Adidas using The Wild’s platform. This disruptive and forward-looking business providing sophisticated AR/VR tools look set to help shape the future of building information modeling (BIM) in AEC.
