Thespie was founded with a mission to reconnect artists and audiences, and in doing so, rebuild the theatre and arts ecosystem. Thespie lists content from the world’s leading cultural institutions, including National Theatre Live, Sadler’s Wells, Royal Court Theatre, Met Opera, Audible and Disney.
But in addition to offering listings of live shows and streams of popular shows from around the world, the company is also investing heavily in robust discovery mechanisms that'll allow them to make data-driven recommendations to users – like Netflix has done for films, and Goodreads for books.
The company has already explored multiple channels of monetisation, including live performances and streaming passes since its launch. And with early team members bringing decades of expertise from Amazon, Disney, TodayTix, ATG, Encore Tickets and the Met Opera, Thespie is well-poised to bridge the gap between audiences and artists, and provide a digital alternative to in-person performance.
