Empowering creators so they can connect and interact with their fans, followers, and communities in more meaningful and enjoyable ways.
Recent years have seen a meteoric rise of the creator economy and people taking their success and finances into their own hands with tools like YouTube, Patreon and Twitch. However, despite all the advances to support such creators there was still no effective way for fans to gift items to their favourite creators in a safe and privacy-friendly way. This is the niche which Throne was created to fill.
Its platform is a fully secure, concierge wishlist service that acts as an intermediary between creators and their fans, enabling creators to post desired items online and giving fans the chance to purchase them as gifts. A young company without any existing direct competition, Throne has been able to establish itself as the main player in this market. Indeed, it grew from close to $0 GMV to $12m annualized GMV in 4 months, and now have over 85,000 creators. Its existing potential market is huge; there are already a huge number of online creators on a large range of sites, and Throne can offer a desirable service to all of them.
Further, Throne's potential market is still growing as more and more creators appear and grow popular online each year. In the long term, the company is focused on becoming the infrastructure for social selling. Throne's current focus on developing relationships with large merchants will allow it to place orders directly in its systems whilst also building up a large base of content creators. Ultimately, this will enable Throne to flip its business around and not just allow fans to gift items to creators but also allow creators to sell their favourite items to fans.
