Our take

Thursday differs from the well-known existing dating apps on the market because, unlike traditional swipe-right-anytime apps, Thursday operates only one day a week. This intends to fix some of the problematic issues of overuse that can plague dating apps - leading to dating indecision and swipe fatigue.

They have built an app where everything you want from online dating happens in one day, making Thursday the one day of the week when singles can match, chat, and meet. The app removes the “paradox of choice” (daily matches are capped at 10) and forces users to move quickly, upping the spontaneity factor.

The company will be using its recent funding to expand its team and invest in marketing, as it focuses on continuing to set itself apart from competitors. Thursday could potentially expand to other cities later down the line, however, they are currently only available in London and New York.
