Company mission

To solve the food system’s biggest problems by rethinking how our favorite foods are made, and what they’re made of.

Our take

Tomorrow Farms, which emerged from the SALT Fund incubator in 2021, partners with food tech innovators to launch sustainable food and beverage brands. The startup has already launched one brand, an animal-free dairy drink named Bored Cow, which was made in partnership with Perfect Day.

It’s worth noting that the year of Tomorrow Farms’ foundation, 2021, was a record breaking year for investment in the food tech space, with over $12 billion being poured into the sector – a figure which is forecast to keep on growing.

While much of this capital goes towards R&D, Tomorrow Farms is positioning itself as a brand builder, i.e. the team that can take innovative products to market. It’s a potentially shrewd move, as the industry looks to be on the cusp of a significant production boost, given its improved financial backing.

Though it’s still too early to tell if Tomorrow Farms will go on to boast the portfolio of brands that it’s aiming towards, it’s hugely encouraging that sustainability-focused VC fund Lowercarbon Capital has seen fit to invest heavily in the startup as it looks to expand.
