To liberate humanity’s lived experience of the web.

Our take

As blockchain technology continues to evolve, developers such as game studios have shown an interest in bringing their projects and applications fully onchain. Tonk caters to studios that want to do just that, building infrastructure to facilitate bringing their games to the blockchain.

The problem Tonk is addressing is that blockchains cannot handle hidden information effectively, which is a prerequisite to running games and other user-facing applications. The company leverages zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), an emerging technology, to bring this capability to the blockchain and hence create a scenario where games can exist fully onchain.

So far, the company has invested its time in building its own games and gaming infrastructure, as well as growing its network of relationships within the ZK space. One project that has gained attention is "Dappicom" that emulates the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in ZK. On top of this, a recent pre-seed funding round sets up the company's future as it looks to build out its team.
