Company mission

Tradeteq's mission is to reduce corporate credit and trade finance transaction costs through cutting-edge trading automation technology.

Our take

Despite setting up their own successful trade finance-focused asset manager Thames Path Capital in 2016, Tradeteq’s founders repeatedly faced market gaps blocking wider distribution: appropriate technology infrastructure, transparency, and standardisation.

The startup has had great success through its strategy of automating compliance on behalf of its customers. In particular, by using Artificial Intelligence, Tradeteq is able to uniquely identify and repackage complicated trade finance products into standardised investments.

Now the FinTech is looking to incorporate another major trend in global markets - decentralised finance. It will soon launch a decentralised trade finance distribution product leveraging NFTs.

However, the company will likely face stiff competition from rival venture-backed trade finance startups like Contour, which is building its product on blockchain technology from the ground up.
