Company mission

To empower football clubs, agents and players to be successful in the transfer market by giving them real-time market intelligence and direct access to a global network of decision makers.

43% employee growth in 12 months

Our take

The football industry has long been lucrative, but its transfer market was plagued by inefficiencies. Clubs were overpaying for players, communication was secretive, and there was uncertainty about player availability, leading to missed opportunities for clubs in need. Networking and agents played crucial roles, yet no effective solution had emerged.

Until "matchmaker" TransferRoom was founded in 2016, an online marketplace connecting clubs with available players for transfer or loan. Founder Jonas Ankersen recognised the outdated nature of the transfer market and aimed to modernise it by empowering football clubs, agents and players to be successful in the space, giving them real-time market intelligence and direct access to a global network of decision-makers.

While it may not be the go-to platform for the majority of English clubs, TransferRoom is used by 700 teams worldwide, including Man City, Liverpool and PSG. It also has 400 agencies and 8000 professional players on its platform, empowering clubs and agents to facilitate over 4,000 transfers since its launch in 2017.
