Our take

Over the last decade, it has become the new normal for holidaymakers to book their hotels online. If hotels are going to make the most of their potential market, they need a strong online presence - one which brings in as many guests as possible for the minimum cost. Though online travel agent giants like Trivago revolutionised the system with price comparison sites for hotel bookings, in the current market it's often cheaper for guests to book directly with hotels. With price being the single most powerful factor in consumers' booking decisions, the market is now making a long-overdue move towards direct bookings.

This is where Triptease comes in. It creates software that allows hotels to deal directly with their guests online - saving both the consumer and the hotel money. Triptease's 'Retargeting' software, for example, significantly increases the return on investment of a hotel's online marketing strategy by intelligently serving personalised, price-led ads to potential guests after they leave a hotel's website. Triptease, therefore, gives hotels a platform through which they can attract guests, provide a premium booking service, and keep customers coming back for more.

It's no secret that the global shift in the travel industry has put the hotel industry under severe strain. But, even before this, it was estimated that hotels were losing $58 billion in revenue per year due to poor customer care. So it's more important now than ever for hotels to manage their customers' bookings efficiently and effectively themselves. If Triptease can help them do that, the company could reinvent the way hotels across the world do business online.
