Our take

Pet wellness startup Tuggs creates sustainable, freshly prepared dog food. As the first UK company to create fresh, insect-based dog food, the company is hoping to revolutionise the sustainable pet food market.

While its dog food is currently available in four UK retail stores, it is primarily an online, subscription-based platform. Tuggs creates personalised monthly health plans for their pets, developed from its proprietary algorithm, enabling owners to provide their dogs with tailor-made meals to keep them healthy and help them hit and maintain an ideal weight.

Having completed a seed funding round in 2024, Tuggs is well set to see continued growth as it plans to expand its range of products to include 6 recipes, treats, and supplements. As the door is also open for the company to expand into sustainable dog toys, the company has considerable growth potential.
