Company mission

To build a climate-positive world and fossil-free future.

Our take

In the race against climate change, innovative solutions such as Twelve’s carbon transformation technology has the potential to positively impact a broad variety of sustainable consumer products. Reinventing what it means to be a chemical company, its technology allows companies to eliminate the need for fossil fuels across their supply chains and operations.

Carbon transformation is essentially industrial photosynthesis, converting CO2 emissions into critical chemicals and fuels with just water and renewable energy. And Twelve’s technology is able to integrate into existing industrial systems and supply chains. This is a major benefit to companies trying to reach lower emission goals.

In 2022, the company launched its first commercial products and is partnered with a range of companies, including Mercedes-Benz, Procter & Gamble, Shopify, and NASA. More recently, it announced an SAF purchase agreement with a large European-based airline company, where, over 14-years, it will supply 260M gallons of SAF to support its five airlines. This, alongside a recent investment from United, showcase the demand for the companies innovative technology and SAF.
